1” x 5-1/2” Galvanized Steel Nipple – Threaded Pipe Segment for Corrosion-Resistant Connections

The 1” x 5-1/2” Galvanized Steel Nipple is a short-length, schedule-grade pipe section with male NPT threads on both ends. Manufactured from welded or seamless steel pipe and hot-dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A153, this nipple provides a durable connection in systems exposed to moisture and atmospheric corrosion.

Designed for use in non-potable water, low-pressure steam, gas, and air systems, this fitting is commonly used to extend pipe runs or bridge short gaps between components. Threads are cut to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards for reliable mating with couplings, valves, and other NPT fittings.

Installation Guidelines

Apply PTFE tape or pipe joint compound to the threads to ensure a leak-resistant seal. Use proper torque during installation to prevent thread deformation or cracking in mating components. Inspect threads for integrity prior to assembly. Not suitable for welding due to zinc coating; welding may release hazardous fumes and degrade protective finish.

This galvanized nipple is used in:

Usage Considerations
